With solid belief in righteousness.” This surprisingly sudden collapse of the government & the takeover of the presidential palace by the terror group on August 15, led to fear and panic in the capital. Thousands of people were on August 16 trying to escape Kabul. The United States had sent around 6,000 troops to the airport to fly out embassy officials and also Afghan nationals who assisted the US as interpreters or in other support roles.
