NYC Helicopter Crash: Siemens CEO Agustin Escobar, His Wife Merce Camprubi Montal Among 6 Dead After Sightseeing Chopper Crashes Into Hudson River

Siemens CEO Agustin Escobar, his wife Merce Camprubi Montal and their three children died in a helicopter crash in New York City on Thursday, April 10. The sightseeing helicopter, a Bell 206 model, reportedly broke apart mid-air before crashing upside down into the Hudson River. The pilot is also among the deceased persons. New York City Mayor Eric Adams said the flight began at a downtown heliport around 3 PM. Speaking to The Associated Press, an eyewitness, Bruce Wall, said he saw the chopper “falling apart” in midair, with the tail & propeller coming off. The National Transportation Safety Board said it will conduct an investigation to determine the cause of the fatal crash.
