On March 30, Amit Shah, Union Home Minister of India said that the bill to merge three municipal corporations of Delhi into a single entity does not attack the powers of the Union Territory, reported PTI. Shah was replying to the debate over the Delhi Municipal Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2022, in Lok Sabha. Amit Shah said Delhi is a Union Territory and the Centre has a right to legislate on such matters. Shah bashed the opposition for alleging that the BJP was scared of the municipal elections and that is why it brought the bill. He said, "We don't get scared of polls.” Watch the video to know more.
