Known as the city of Lord Shiva, Varanasi welcomed Lord Ganesha with full religious fervour and gaiety. The festival is celebrated with immense religious fervour and gaiety in many parts of the country. Devotees offer ‘modak’ to Lord Ganesha whom they lovingly call ‘Bappa’.
