Amid rising tension between India and Maldives, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of EaseMyTrip, Nishant Pitti, has announced the suspension of all Maldives flight bookings. This comes after derogatory remarks were made by Maldives ministers against India and PM Narendra Modi. In a post on X, Pitti wrote, “In solidarity with our nation, @EaseMyTrip has suspended all Maldives flight bookings.” Another co-founder of EaseMyTrip, Prashant Pitti wrote, “Water & beaches of Lakshadweep are as good as Maldives/Seychelles.” Maldives ministers made derogatory remarks against PM Modi after he tweeted about snorkeling in Lakshadweep. Indian Association of Tour Operators predicted that the impact of the boycott would become apparent within the next 20-25 days, reported ANI.
