Chandra Shekhar Azad was a fearless revolutionary born on July 23, 1906. The daring freedom fighter was born in Bhavra village, present-day Alirajpur district of Madhya Pradesh. He was Involved in incidents such as Kakori Train Robbery, assembly bomb incident and the shooting of Saunders at Lahore, to avenge the killing of Lala Lajpat Rai. Azad had popularly vowed that he will be never get arrested by the British Army. Therefore, on Febraury 27, 1931 when Azad was held by the Britishers, he shot himself & fulfilled his resolve to die a ‘free man.’ Azad was just 24 when he sacrificed his life for the nation.
