China Puts Lanzhou Under Lockdown As Covid-19 Cases Rise

On October 26, China put Lanzhou, a city of four million people under lockdown. This comes amid a rise in Covid-19 cases. Residents have been asked not to leave their homes except during emergencies. Fresh restrictions come as China reported 29 new domestic cases, including six cases in Lanzhou. A statement from the authorities as reported by AFP stated that entry and exit of residents would be strictly controlled and limited to essential supplies or medical treatment. The latest outbreak in China is connected to the contagious Delta variant, reported AFP. Watch the video to know more.
