COVID-19 Cases Worldwide Crosses 1.4 Million With 83,000 Deaths; China’s Wuhan City Opens Up

Coronavirus Cases worldwide has crossed 14 Lakh with 83,000 deaths. The worst-hit countries remain the United States, Italy, Spain and France. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson continues to remain in Intensive Care for the second day. Johnson was hospitalised on April 6 after his coronavirus symptoms worsened. Even as the West grapples with the tragic and high death toll, China’s Wuhan which was the epicentre of the global outbreak in January has opened up after being in lockdown for 76 days. Chinese authorities are permitting the 11 million residents of Wuhan to leave without special authorization as long as a mandatory smartphone application shows they are healthy and have not been in recent contact with anyone confirmed to have the coronavirus.
