India recorded 7,830 new Covid-19 cases in a single day, highest in 223 days. India had logged 5,676 cases a day earlier. Active cases have surged to 40,215, as per the Union Health Ministry Data. Death count due to coronavirus has increased to 5,31,016 with 16 new fatalities reported in 24 hours. Number of recoveries has surged to 4,42,04,771. As per the ministry’s website, 220.66 crore doses of vaccines have been administered in the country so far.
