In the last 24 hours, India reported over 2.82 lakh new Covid-19 cases. Positivity rate has jumped marginally from 14.43 per cent to 15.13 per cent. India has so far reported 8,961 cases of the Omicron variant. National capital of India, Delhi, reported 11,684 new cases and 38 deaths. Presently, Delhi has at least 78,112 active cases. Meanwhile, Mumbai, the financial capital of India recorded 6,149 new cases. On January 18, the central government asked states and union territories to enhance Covid-19 testing.
