On May 14 afternoon, cyclone Mocha made landfall in Myanmar's Rakhine state near Sittwe township with winds of up to 209 kilometres (130 miles) per hour. On May 15, India Meteorological Department (IMD) tweeted, “SCS “Mocha” over Myanmar weakened into a Cyclonic Storm at 0230 hours IST of 15th May.” The cyclonic storm earlier passed over Bangladesh's Saint Martin's Island, causing damage and injuries. The cyclone turned away from the country's shores before landfall. Sittwe in Myanmar experienced heavy rains along with high winds. Cell phone towers crumpled due to the high winds, cutting off communications in most of the area. Streets were flooded with water while the winds lashed trees. Watch the video to know more.
