Northeast Delhi continues to see violence after protesters for and against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) clashed and threw stones at each other, set shops and vehicles on fire. Seven people, including one cop were killed and around 100 injured in violence taking place from February 23rd. Several policemen have been injured due to the violence in the national capital. Three firefighters were also injured in the violence after a group of protesters set a fire engine ablaze. All private and government schools remained shut on Tuesday. Five metro stations in the Northeast district will also remain close on February 25. Jaffrabad, Maujpur-Babarpur, Gokulpuri, Johri Enclave and Shiv Vihar stations on Pink Line Metro to remain close. Section 144 has been imposed in Northeast Delhi banning large gatherings. Meanwhile, many gathered at Mumbai’s Marine Drive to protest against the violence taking place in Delhi. Violence takes place in the national capital amid US President Donald Trump’s visit to the country.
