Fact Check: Did Samruddhi Mahamarg Turn Into a River After Heavy Rainfall? Video of Flooded Link Road Shared With Fake Claim
Several X accounts, including the Kerala Congress, shared a video showing heavy waterlogging near the Mehkar interchange in Maharashtra, claiming that the Samruddhi Expressway had turned into a "river" after heavy rainfall on June 26. However, this is a fake news as the viral video showed waterlogging on a flawed section of National Highway 548C that passes beneath the Samruddhi Expressway. "Samruddhi's main carriageway remained clear. The flooding occurred in a vehicular underpass of NH-548C," MSRDC MD Anilkumar Gaikwad told a leading daily. The Samruddhi Expressway or Samruddhi Mahamarg is a 701-kilometer-long access-controlled expressway connecting Mumbai and Nagpur.
