Panic gripped students on Wednesday, May 07, when a purported UGC notice claiming cancellation of all exams went viral on social media platforms amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan following the Operation Sindoor. The viral notice cited "war situation" and advised students appearing for various exams to return to their homes. Debunking this, the University Grants Commission (UGC) issued a clarification and termed the viral notice "fabricated". The UGC urged students to follow official updates available on their website as well as social media accounts. This happened on the very day India announced successful execution of Operation Sindoor, targeting terror camps in Pakistan & Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK).
