Olaf Scholz is Germany’s new chancellor. Scholz takes over the position after Angela Merkel's 16 years as leader come to end. After taking over as the chancellor, Scholz tweeted, “I said ‘yes’.” President of France Emmanuel Macron tweeted, “Thank you, dear Angela.” US President Joe Biden tweeted, “Congratulations to Germany’s new Chancellor Olaf Scholz.” Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau said, “Congratulations, Chancellor Olaf Scholz.” UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson said, “Germany and the UK are close friends and staunch allies and I look forward to working closely together in the years ahead.” Watch the video to know more.
