Nirjala Ekadashi is the most sacred out of all the twenty-four Ekadashi and it is also dedicated to the worship of Lord Vishnu. The fast during the Bhimsani Ekadashi is observed for 24 hours without consuming water. The auspicious occasion falls on the 11th lunar day of the waxing fortnight of the Hindu month of Jyestha.
