On September 9, Rajnath Singh, Union Defence Minister & Nitin Gadkari, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister attended the inauguration ceremony of the Emergency Landing Field on National Highway 925A. The event took place near Barmer in Rajasthan. Many military aircraft landed and took off from the emergency airstrip as part of the event. First aircraft to land during the demonstration was the C-130J Super Hercules transport aircraft. Rajnath Singh & Nitin Gadkari arrived at the site in the transport aircraft. Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat was also present. Rajnath Singh said, “Till now you have seen cars, tractors and other vehicles on road, but now you will see aircraft landing and taking off from the road.” Watch the video to know more.
