‘IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack Controversy’: Netflix India Content Head Meets I&B Ministry, Assures 'Future Content Will Align With Nation’s Sentiments'

Netflix India's content head met with Information and Broadcasting Secretary Sanjay Jaju in New Delhi on September 3, 2024, amid controversy over the web series ‘IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack Controversy.’ According to ANI, Netflix assured the government that all future content would be sensitive to the nation’s sentiments. During the meeting, the government reportedly asked tough questions, including why no captions or disclaimers were provided to clearly display the real names of the hijackers. The Netflix team also submitted research documents and footage. Anubhav Sinha's series was released on August 29 on Netflix.
