India celebrates its 77th Independence Day on August 15, 2023. On this day in 1947, India got freedom from British rule. The day is celebrated with great enthusiasm every year. Several political leaders took to social media to extend wishes. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “Jai Hind!” Union Home Minister Amit Shah tweeted, “I bow down to all the freedom fighters who contributed to the freedom of the country.” Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said, “Happy Independence Day to all the countrymen.” Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also wished on this special day.
