India outclassed South Africa in the 1st Test in Visakhapatnam by 203 runs. While chasing a 395-run target in the 2nd innings, Proteas were bowled out for 191. Ravindra Jadeja took 4 wickets while Mohammed Shami took 5 wickets in 2nd innings to crush the opposition. Rohit Sharma was awarded player of the match award for his twin centuries in both the innings. India now lead the three-match Test series 1-0.
