Israel-Hamas Clash in Gaza: India Voices Support For Two State Solution At UN Security Council Meet

India has called for an immediate halt to hostilities between Israel and Hamas forces located in Gaza as the number of deaths rises to 198 in the span of just one week. At the virtual United Nations Security Council Meet held to discuss the flaring up of hostilities, India said, “Immediate de-escalation is the need of the hour, so as to arrest any further slide towards the brink. We urge both sides to show extreme restraint, desist from actions that exacerbate tensions, and refrain from attempts to unilaterally change the existing status-quo, including in East Jerusalem and its neighbourhood,” India’s Permanent Representative and Ambassador to the U.N. , T.S. Tirumurti.
