Lok Sabha Elections 2024: TMC Fields Cricketer Yusuf Pathan From Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury’s Seat Berhampore; Mamata Banerjee Led Party Announces Candidates For All 42 Seats In West Bengal

On March 10, Trinamool Congress (TMC) revealed its candidates for all the 42 Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal. CM Mamata Banerjee led TMC has introduced six political newcomers. Former cricketer Yusuf Pathan and Padma Shri recipient Kalipada Soren will make their political debut in the Lok Sabha polls this year. The other new faces are actor Rachana Banerjee, psychiatrist Sharmila Sarkar, Oxford University’s PhD scholar Shahnawaz Ali Raihan, and former IPS officer Prasun Banerjee. Pathan is expected to contest against five-term MP and Bengal Pradesh Congress president Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury. While the Congress has still not announced its candidates, Chowdhury is expected to seek re-election from Berhampore.
