Manipur Polls 2022: 78.03 Per Cent Turnout Recorded In The First Phase Of Polling For 38 Seats

On February 28, voting for the first phase of assembly elections in Manipur took place. Voting took place for 38 of the state's 60 seats. The average voter turnout reported across the five districts was 78.03 per cent, reported NDTV. In 2017, Congress had emerged as the single largest party, winning 28 of the 60 seats. However, BJP formed the government with the help of the National People's Party and Naga People's Front. Second and the last phase of polling in the state will now take place on March 5.
