Mumbai reported a massive jump in Covid-19 cases for the fourth consecutive day with 1,377 cases. This is a 70% jump from the previous day which had reported 809 cases. Cases in Mumbai comprised the majority percentage of Cases being reported from Maharashtra. The state reported 2,172 cases on December 28. BMC’s Covid-19 update also flagged the growth rate of COVID-19 cases between December 21 and 27 was 0.07 per cent in the city.
