Mumbai Reports Zero Covid-19 Deaths Since March 26, 2020, Overall India Cases Below 15,000

Mumbai, the financial capital of the country did not record any Covid-19 related deaths in 24 hours for the first time since March 26, 2020. The city recorded 367cases on October 17. Mumbai was one of the worst-affected cities during the pandemic. ā€œThis is great news for all of us in Mumbai,ā€ Iqbal Singh Chahal, Mumbai Civic Commissioner told PTI. Aaditya Thackeray, Maharashtra minister tweeted, ā€œMumbai today has recorded zero covid deaths, first time since 26th March 2020.ā€ On October 17, Maharashtra had 28,631 active cases. Meanwhile, India reported 14,146 fresh cases, lowest daily rise in Covid-19 cases since early March. 14 deaths were reported in the country in the last 24 hours. Watch the video to know more.
