Nirbhaya’s mother broke down in court during hearing of her petition to issue death warrant against the convicts. Mother of the 2012 gangrape and murder case victim asked the court, "What about my rights?" The Delhi court later adjourned the hearing for Thursday. One of the convicts, Pawan Gupta appealed before the court that he has no lawyer, the Delhi court offered to provide him legal aid at the earliest. Nirbhaya’s mother said that these are tactics to delay the case. Frustrated with the continued delay in the hanging of the convicts, Nirbhaya's said the Patiala House Court judge is supporting the convicts.
