Former union finance minister and senior Congress leader P Chidambaram was brought to Tihar Jail in the national capital on September 05. Rose Avenue Court in Delhi has remanded him to judicial custody till September 19 in INX media case. P Chidambaram will be kept in Jail number 7 in a separate cell, cot and western toilet will be provided to him. He will have to eat the food prepared in the prison. The order followed Supreme Court’s refusal to grant him pre-arrest bail in the case; however, a Delhi Court granted him and his son Karti Chidambaram anticipatory bail in the Aircel-Maxis case, in which the father-son duo is facing probe by enforcement agencies. Chidambaram is in CBI custody for the past 15 days and was arrested on Sep 21 by the CBI from his Jor Bagh residence.
