On October 20, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, senior Congress leader met the family of a man named Arun Valmiki, who died while in the custody of Uttar Pradesh Police in Agra. Gandhi promised the family that she will help them get justice. Gandhi said that the relatives of Arun Valmiki told her that the entire family was tortured. The Congress leader announced Rs 30 lakh financial help and legal aid for Valmiki's family. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was allowed to meet Valmiki’s family along with four others after being detained by the cops earlier in the day. Gandhi was detained for a second time in less than a month.
