Police have arrested the father of the 17-year-old boy involved in an accident which killed two people. The Pune police arrested the father from Aurangabad in Maharashtra under sections 75 and 77 of the Juvenile Justice Act. The fatal accident took place during early hours on May 19 in Pune's Kalyani Nagar area. A Porsche car, driven by a 17-year-old boy, collided with a motorcycle. The Juvenile Justice Board granted bail to the minor bail just 15 hours after his detention. The board also asked the minor to write an essay and work with the traffic police in Yerawada for 15 days. This response by the board received sharp criticism from netizens. Meanwhile, Pune police have filed an application with the sessions court to try the juvenile as an adult.
