CryptoCongress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra finally reached Lakhimpur Kheri on October 6. The Gandhis met the families whose loved ones died on October 3 in the violence hit district. The deceased were run over by an SUV allegedly driven by Union Minister Ajay Mishra's son, Ashish Mishra. The Supreme Court took suo motu cognizance of the events in Lakhimpur Kheri. The matter will be heard on October 7 by a bench led by Chief Justice NV Ramana. Rahul Gandhi was accompanied by party leaders including Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and his Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Channi. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, along with other Congress leaders met the families of 19-year-old Lovepreet Singh and Raman Kashyap, the 30-year-old local journalist who also died that day.
