Rhea Chakraborty was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau on September 8 in connection with drugs-related allegations in the Sushant Singh Rajput case. A 14-day judicial custody has been given to NCB in the case. Rhea’s bail plea has been rejected by the court, she will now have to approach the sessions court in Mumbai. “Rhea has been arrested and due process of informing the family has been completed” KPS Malhotra, Deputy Director, NCB. Before entering the vehicle along with NCB officials, Rhea, clad in black, with a "Smash the Patriarchy" message across her tee, waved at the assembled media persons at the anti-drug agency's office in south Mumbai. Rhea Chakraborty, who dated Sushant Singh Rajput in his final months, has been charged with organizing drugs for the Bollywood star after three days of questioning. She "is an active member of the drug syndicate connected with drug supplies," the Narcotics Control Bureau said in its court documents. Rhea faces charges that could lead to jail for up to 10 years but the Narcotics Control Bureau makes no official mention of her using drugs. Reportedly, Rhea broke down when confronted with her brother Showik Chakraborty, who was arrested last week. Quoting Showik Chakraborty & Sushant Singh Rajput's employees Samuel Miranda & Dipesh Sawant, the anti-drugs bureau told the court that "every delivery and payment was in conscious knowledge of Rhea Chakraborty". Samuel Miranda & Dipesh Sawant, who were arrested last week, "used to receive drugs for consumption of Sushant Singh Rajput", according to the document. The 28-year-old, named as an accused in the CBI investigation into Sushant Singh Rajput's death on June 14, reportedly told the NCB during her questioning, "Whatever I did, I did for Sushant". Rhea Chakraborty is also being investigated by the CBI & Enforcement Directorate over allegations by Sushant's family that she exploited the actor for money, mentally harassed him and had a role in his death. After her brother's arrest last week, her father Indrajit Chakraborty had posted an emotional message. In television interviews, Rhea had said that she had never done drugs but did try to stop Sushant Singh Rajput.
