An estimated 100 to 150 people defied lockdown orders in Kalaburgi, Karnataka to attend the Siddalingeshwara Chariot festival held on April 16. Video footage from the village shows, devotees surrounding the chariot and following it. An FIR has been filed against 20 people while a sub-inspector has been suspended over the lapse in maintaining law and order. Investigation is under way as to how so many devotees were allowed to congregate despite the country being under lockdown orders.
