A sloth bear was shot dead by forest officials in Joshimath in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district on September 22. The incident took place after the bear injured five people during a rescue operation. As per an ANI report, the forest officials were trying to catch the bear after it attacked some locals. A video, which has gone viral on social media, shows the bear charging towards the rescue team while the officials were laying down a net to capture it. A forest official then opens fire in an attempt to save their lives, killing the sloth bear. Watch the video to know more.
