Former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has died aged 86. The octogenarian had been on life-support following COVID-19 complications. Gogoi died due to multi-organ failure, according to a statement released by Assam’s Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Tarun Gogoi was a veteran Congress leader and had led the party to three consecutive victories in Assam State Assembly, from 2001 to 2011.
