The United Kingdom on April 25 said it was sending life-saving medical equipment to India - including ventilators and oxygen concentrators. This comes as India battles a devastating wave of Covid-19 infections that has seen the active caseload jump to 28 lakh & leave over 1.95 lakh dead. Indian Air Force on April 24 picked up from Singapore four cryogenic containers for storage of liquid oxygen. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri also tweeted about supplies coming from Singapore. Saudi Arabia is shipping 80 metric tonnes of liquid oxygen to India as the country is running low on supplies. The European Union also promised to help India. Outgoing German Chancellor Angela Merkel said, "To the people of India I want to express my sympathy on the terrible suffering that Covid-19 has again brought over your communities.” On April 23, France also spoke up, saying it stood by India in this crisis. With 3,52,991 fresh Covid-19 cases & 2,891 deaths, India saw a new record high as a deadly second wave sweeps the country. Amid a massive surge in Covid-19 cases in India, the world's tallest building, Burj Khalifa, in Dubai was lit up with the Indian flag as well as the message "Stay Strong India" on April 25.
