Swami Prasad Maurya, Minister for Labour and Employment from the Yogi Adityanath government, joined BJP in 2016 after switching from Mayawati-led BSP. Soon after Maurya posted his resignation on Twitter, Akhilesh Yadav posted a photo of the two, welcoming Maurya to Samajwadi Party. The other MLAs are Roshan Lal Verma, Brijesh Prajapati and Bhagwati Prasad Sagar.
