US, Canada ban TikTok on government devices over national security reasons. This ban will not be applicable for businesses in the United States not associated with the federal government. It will also be not applicable to the millions of private citizens who use the immensely popular app, reported AFP. TikTok is owned by Chinese tech giant ByteDance. Canada government also banned TikTok from all of its phones and other devices, citing national security concerns, reported AFP.
