The World Health Organisation’s Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus addressed the media on April 13 and listed out the organisation’s observations of the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. He said the spread and ferocity of the Coronavirus pandemic of 2020 is 10 times worse than the Flu pandemic of 2009. He also noted that developing a vaccine for coronavirus is necessary to completely stop the transmission of the COVID-19 infection. The Director-general also listed out six steps for countries to follow as they look at lifting the lockdown restrictions imposed in the country.
