At least 14 children were killed and several others injured on Tuesday when the roof of a private tuition center collapsed in the eastern Pakistani city of Lahore. The incident occurred during afternoon classes in the Kahna Nau area, a southern suburb of the city. According to rescue officials, approximately 30 students were inside the residential building, which was being utilized as a home-based learning facility, when the structure suddenly caved in.

Emergency service Rescue 1122, alongside local volunteers and police, initiated an immediate search-and-rescue operation to extract victims trapped under the heavy debris. Hospital authorities confirmed that 19 children were brought to nearby medical facilities, including the Tehsil Headquarter (THQ) Hospital Kahna. Fourteen of the victims succumbed to their injuries, while at least five others remain under medical care. Medical workers noted that several of the injured children arrived in critical condition. Initial reports from rescue teams indicated that the roof, supported by T-R girders, suffered a catastrophic structural failure. Lahore Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Operations, Faisal Kamran, confirmed to local media that law enforcement has taken the construction contractor into custody.
