New Delhi, May 18 (PTI) A 12-year-old girl was killed and her brother injured after a dumper hit them this morning while they were going to school in southeast Delhi's Jamia Nagar, the police said.

Around 6:45 AM , a dumper bearing a Haryana registration number hit two school children,a girl and her 14-year-old brother. The girl was dragged for a few metres beneath the truck and was severely injured.

The girl succumbed to her injuries and her body was kept at AIIMS for post-mortem.

Her brother sustained leg injury and bruises on the forehead and is admitted to Apollo Hospital, the police said.

The victims were students of Class 6 at a government school.

The accused, Pushpender, 28, was arrested. He was carrying building material in the truck and was going towards Noida.
