New Delhi, Sep 26 (PTI) Initial investigation into the Rohini courtroom shootout case has revealed the car used to ferry the two assailants belonged to arrested accused Umang Yadav's friend who did not know why his vehicle was borrowed, sources said Sunday.

Gym-trainer Jagdeep owned the car which was borrowed by Umang Yadav and used to drop the two attackers to the court on Friday, they said.

Yadav, who was arrested by a team of Delhi Police Special Cell Saturday, told police during interrogation that his friend Jagdeep was not aware of his intention nor the purpose for which the car would be used, said a source.

In a late Saturday night development, the Special Cell had arrested Umang Yadav and Vinay, police said.

Jailed gangster Jitendra Gogi was shot dead by the two men -- Rahul and Jagdeep alias Jagga -- who were dressed as lawyers, inside the crowded courtroom on Friday. The assailants were killed in police counter-fire.

Video footage of the incident, which exposed security lapses in the system, showed policemen and lawyers rushing out in panic as gunshots rang out inside courtroom number 207.

The joint commissioner of police (northern range) has been asked to probe the incident and submit a report while the case is being handled by the Crime Branch team.
