New Delhi [India], May 22 (ANI): A 26-year-old man was stabbed to death by unidentified persons in the Maujpur area of the national capital, an official said.

The deceased was identified as Shahbaz, a resident of Maujpur.

The deputy commissioner of police (DCP), North East Delhi, Joy Tirkey, told ANI, "The incident took place at 4 pm on Tuesday near the Gurudwara Gali of Maujpur area."

"We received a call that someone had been injured after being stabbed. After arriving at the scene, we found that he had succumbed to his injuries," the official said.

"We are checking CCTV footage. The deceased was married. He had a case against him under the Excise Act. We have registered a case of murder and are investigating the matter," the DCP added.

The official informed fufther that a probe has been launched to nab the accused.
