New Delhi, Oct 4 (PTI) A woman and her 10-year-old nephew were injured after falling off a ride at a Ramlila fair in Shahdara's Karkardooma, police said on Tuesday.

Neha Jain (26) and her nephew Arnav have been admitted to a nearby hospital, they said.

The police said the incident took place on Monday when Jain along with her family went to CDB ground in Karkardooma to attend a Ramlila fair.

The woman in her complaint alleged that as soon as the ride started their seat broke, leading to the accident.

"Despite the seat of the swing being broken and us raising an alarm, the ride was not stopped," Jain said in her complaint.

No safety measures were provided and there was no facility to stop it in emergency circumstances, she further alleged.

A case has been registered under section 287 (negligent conduct with respect to machinery) and 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the Indian Penal Code, a senior police officer said.
