Kochi (Kerala) [India], October 26 (ANI): The Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) at the Cochin airport in Kerala seized four foreign-origin gold chains weighing 499.9 grams worth Rs 26,93,861 and having a purity of 24 carats from a passenger from Abu Dhabi (UAE) on Thursday, said an official statement from Customs.

According to officials, the seizure was made during a personal search of the passenger and the gold chain was recovered from his underwear. The passenger has arrived from Abu Dhabi by Indigo Airlines flight No.6E-1404.

The gold was seized under relevant sections of CA-1962 and further proceedings are under process, added the official statement. (ANI)
