Guwahati, May 24 (PTI) Narcotics worth Rs 8.5 crore have been seized and four persons have been arrested in two separate operations in Assam's Cachar district on Friday, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said.

'In two successful anti-narcotic drives conducted by @cachar police, it seized a huge swath of narcotic substances', the chief minister posted on 'X'.

The operation was conducted jointly with the Assam Rifles and the seized substances include 20,000 Yaba tablets and 418 gms of brown sugar.

'The price of the seized items are Rs 8.5 crore and four accused have been arrested', the chief minister added.
