New Delhi [India], September 17 (ANI): Leaders from across the Oppositon parties extended warm greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of his 76th birthday, wishing him health and longevity.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay, in an X post, conveyed warm wishes and praised the Prime Minister for his dedication to work.

"I extend my heartfelt birthday wishes to the Prime Minister of India, Thiru. Narendra Modi avargal, who leads with dedication towards building a strong India. I wholeheartedly wish you a long life filled with good health," he said.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also extended his greetings to Prime Minister Modi, saying, "Wishing PM @narendramodi a very happy birthday. Wish you good health and a long life."

Moreover, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also extended greetings to the Prime Minister on X, stating, "Happy birthday to PM Narendra Modi. Wishing you good health and a long life."

Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge also wished Prime Minister Modi good health and a long life.

"Best wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his birthday. May he be blessed with good health and long life," he said.

Meanwhile, President Droupadi Murmu praised Prime Minister Modi's 25 years of public service and his contribution to good governance and inclusive development.

In a post on X, the official account of Rashtrapati Bhavan shared, “Heartfelt birthday greetings and best wishes to the Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji. Over the past 25 years, during your tenure as Chief Minister and Prime Minister, you have established many new benchmarks of good governance and imparted unprecedented momentum and a new direction to inclusive development.”

Earlier in the day, Vice President CP Radhakrishnan highlighted India's economic resilience, poverty reduction and inclusive developmental initiatives under his governance.

In an X post, Radhakrishnan praised the Prime Minister’s "steadfast and visionary leadership," pointing to India’s standing as a bright spot in the global arena and one of the world's fastest-growing major economies.

"Heartiest birthday greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Under your steadfast and visionary leadership, Bharat is shining as a bright spot in the world and among the fastest-growing major economies. Over 25 crore Indians have come out of extreme poverty. BJP leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting, and Electronics & IT Ashwini Vaishnaw, along with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, among several other dignitaries, also extended warm greetings to the Prime Minister on the special occasion. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was born in 1950 to Hiraba and Damodardas Modi in Vadnagar in Gujarat's Mehsana district.

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is organising the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ across the country from September 17 to October 17 to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday, with a series of service-oriented programmes and public outreach initiatives. (ANI)
