Gangtok, Jul 22 (PTI) Sikkim on Wednesday reported 108 new cases of COVID-19, its highest single-day spike, as the state's tally rose to 438, an official said.

Most of the new cases were detected in East Sikkim where 61 people tested positive, said Director General- cum-Secretary, Health, Pema T Bhutia.

The South district recorded 46 new cases while one person tested positive in the West district.

The active cases rose to 326, Bhutia said.

Total 112 people have recovered.

The state has so far tested 19,484 samples for COVID- 19, the official said.
