Pune, Apr 16 (PTI) Unidentified persons threw acid on a 25-year-old man on the busy Tilak Road here late Tuesday evening, police said.

Two rounds were also reportedly fired during the attack, but this was yet to be verified, they said.

"The injured man was identified as Rohit Thorat. He has been rushed to the hospital," said senior police inspector Sunil Kalgutkar of Vishrambaug police station.

Thorat could not identify the culprits as they ran away after throwing acid, he said.

"Further investigation is on," he said.
