The US Department of Defense has announced awards for various ventures including Elon Musk’s SpaceX. The space agency has been awarded a USD 297,000,000 firm-fixed-price contract to pursue some of the important space programmes.
California [USA], February 20 (ANI): The US Department of Defense has announced awards for various ventures including Elon Musk’s SpaceX. The space agency has been awarded a USD 297,000,000 firm-fixed-price contract to pursue some of the important space programs.The investment will see SpaceX launch three crucial missions, including the NROL-87, NROL-85, and AFSPC-44 missions, to their intended orbits. NROL stands for National Reconnaissance Office Launch and AFSPC stands for Air Force Space Command.The contract will include launch vehicle production, mission integration, mission launch operations/spaceflight worthiness and mission unique activities for each mission.The NROL-85 and NROL-87 are expected to be completed by December 2021 while the AFSPC-44 is expected to be completed earlier by February 2021.
