The result was another disappointment for Mainz, for which its top goal-scorer Jonathan Burkardt limped off after 20 minutes. Friday's point was only its second at home from a possible 15 and the home side had goalkeeper Robin Zentner to thank with a fine display that thwarted Moenchengladbach forwards on several occasions. Moenchengladbach moved into ninth while Mainz was three places behind.
